Welcome to RETURN Interactive! – a web site that will allow users to create their own healing journeys through the countries seen in the documentary, and eventually globally.  The site is under development, but we wanted to post our work in the early stages, while we are fundraising to complete a full prototype.

Here are our plans for the site:

RETURN Interactive is a web based solution that propels us into the world of indigenous global medicine, beginning with five countries in Africa.  The purpose of RETURN Interactive is to document global healing traditions, share them in this online experience and to create a community focused on indigenous cultural practices. The site prototype consists of three integrated sections:  Create Your Own Journey; Share the Journey; and Links.

In Create Your Own Journey users are guided through hypertext, digital photographs and video clips of practicing traditional healers across the African continent, as they follow their virtual journeys and experience the ancient practices.  Users can choose their own “paths” from the defined categories of ritual, divination, spirit, or plant medicine.  They may cross paths as well as countries.  In each country they receive video and text information about cultural role and practice of traditional medicine while viewing live ritual, forms of divination, spiritual practice and plant medicine.

Even though only a few of the links are up and running, please explore RETURN Interactive and send us a comment or a post to the RETURN Blog with your thoughts.
